Looking Back on 100 Blog Posts!
Introduction:
This week’s blog post is a special one as it’s actually my 100th blog post.
I’m using this opportunity to firstly celebrate reaching 100 blog posts but also take a minute to step back and reflect on how I’ve reached this point.
How did it begin?
What have I learnt? (Both good and bad!)
Key points that have stood out.
As always, be sure to applaud, comment and share with your friends.
Happy Reading!!
How I Actually Started Blogging:
I’ve touched on this story briefly in the past but I’ll outline it here again.
During the Covid pandemic lockdown period, I started creating content on Instagram.
Eventually I came across TheNibbleByte (whilst I was doing my studies myself) and they were looking for volunteers to create articles for their own blogs.
I then took this opportunity, just purely to try something differently. My scheduling wasn’t perfect but ‘the rest is history’.
Things I’ve Learnt After Writing 100 Articles:
I can literally write about anything:
Of course my audience is primarily a mix of people interested in tech and also university students but with that being said, I can write about anything!
I use this platform in a very relaxed way but I keep the content flexible, without worrying too much about specific details.
I don’t need to write pages upon pages of content!
This is arguably a subjective topic but me personally, I try to keep my blog posts short and sweet!
There’s no need for me to write pages upon pages of content, I can just outline my key points, quickly and clearly.
Certain topics definitely appeal more than others:
This point explicitly references my blog post about solving over 200 Leetcode problems!
The engagement on this post was far higher than any other post that I’ve created. It was clear to see that this topic is trendy. ‘LeetCode’ can be thought of as a buzzword which is popular and the analytics for this post highlight the benefits of covering this topic.
Consistency is important … but 1 miss isn’t the end of the world:
Where possible, I’ve tried to stay consistent and the benefits are clear (greater satisfaction, higher views …).
Long time viewers know that I’ve taken breaks from time to time (previously in line with increased university/internship work) and whilst this isn’t ideal, it’s okay.
Final Things:
As always, thank you for taking the time to read this article.
