Lets Talk About the POWER of NumPy!!!

Intro:

So after a LONG time out (focussing on JavaScript 😀), I’ve decided to revisit Data Science with Python.

If you have done Data Science/Machine Learning with Python before then you will know that NumPy is at the CORE of it.

If you haven’t then keep reading because I’ll give a brief overview of NumPy and increase your awareness of it!!

What is It?

NumPy is a Python mathematical library, which allows us to work with arrays.

Remember that Python DOESN’T have build in arrays (typically I would just use lists).

There are many maths methods that we can use to manipulate the data within our arrays!

What Can We Use It For?

Initialising arrays.

Shaping arrays.

Working with matrices.

Remember earlier how I said NumPy is the core?

Well 2 reasons because we can use it when:

Working with other libraries(Pandas, SeaBorn) in order to create Data Frames/Charts.

Working with other libraries (TensorFlow, SciKitLearn) to create ML models.
