What is It?!!

SEO stands for ‘Search Engine Optimisation’ and the main aim of it is for companies to try and get their pages higher up on the search engine’S (many people only focus on Google!!).

Types of SEO:

On-Page:

This entails all the things the user will see!

Unsurprisingly, the quality of your content will impact your SEO score.

This also includes things like META tags (data about data) and if you supply more data about your page then web scrapers can take this in and boost your site’s SEO score!!

Another thing to bear in mind is your use of semantic tags. For example, if you only use <div>’s then that can lead to a poor SEO score whereas the use of semantic tags such as <header> and <main> can be quite beneficial!!

Off-Page:

As the name states, this includes things that aren’t on your webpage.

The most common example is where other websites contain a link to your site, which therefore improves the trustworthiness and then makes your SEO score higher.

One thing to bear in mind is that the quality of the sites with links to your sites will further benefit/hinder your SEO score.

Another source for Off-Page SEO is social media!

Technical:

This links to what I mentioned in the ‘On-Page’ section, regarding the HTML tags.

The design should be responsive and easy for crawlers to interpret, in order to maximise your SEO score.

YouTube SEO:

YouTube is so big that nowadays, it’s the 2nd biggest search engine (behind Google)!

You need to maximise your use of the description, title and tags in order to boost your YouTube SEO.

Boosting YouTube SEO helps to improve your overall SEO.

Final Things:

This is such a big topic that I would highly recommend that you look at the docs!!!

As always, remember to applaud and share this post, helping it reach more people!!!
